COMPUTER SCIENCE

All classrooms are equipped with one or two computers, one of which accesses the Ramaz network, and a printer. All rooms have access to projectors for showing the display on a screen for the entire class. Terminals are used to present information, allow students to do research through software or the Internet, create signs, and write reports. Each class has a weekly period in the computer lab, which is equipped with twenty-four computers, printers, a projector, and a scanner. The computer lab, a partnership between teachers and the computer teacher, allows students to work individually, with a partner, or in small groups on various projects. Students learn basic word processing and spreadsheet skills, and how to use email and the Internet.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Students work on their agility, balance, coordination, and flexibility. They learn social skills and positive self-concepts through a cooperative model rather than through emphasis on competition. Activities include cooperative games, dance, gymnastics, partner and group acrobatics, volleyball, badminton, soccer, tennis, basketball, strength training, and baseball. Students learn movement concept skills such as locomotor skills, non-locomotor skills, and body management skills. Special events include the yearly
Lag Ba-Omer outing and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for the Heart fund- and awareness-raising project. Parents learn about physical education activities through the publication of "Moving Times," a newsletter that they receive three to four times yearly.
