Ramaz School is a coeducational
yeshivah day school, Nursery through grade twelve, in which Judaic and general courses are offered. The Early Childhood Center includes Nursery, Pre-K, and Kindergarten; the Lower School encompasses grades one through four. Both divisions are located at 125 East 85th Street. The Middle School spans fifth through eighth grades and is located at 114 East 85th Street and the Upper School includes ninth through twelfth grades, located at 60 East 78th Street.
Ramaz School looks for young people of good character and strong educational promise who will grow in their commitment to Judaism, become engaged in their learning experiences, be stimulated by the dual curriculum, pursue independent work and contribute to the academic and cocurricular life of the learning community.
Ramaz is a religious educational institution enriched by a student body drawn from the New York metropolitan area, as well as members of different international communities. The school environment provides its students with the opportunity to grow in Torah learning and in practical observance. Our educational programs are most effective in an environment where children from all social and economic segments of the Jewish community grow together and learn from each other.
Families are invited to apply to each of the grades spanning the Nursery program through eleventh grade. While most students enter in Nursery, Kindergarten or in ninth grade, individual acceptances may occur in other grades under special circumstances. Applicants for Nursery must be three years old by August 31 of the entering year, applicants for Pre-K must be four years old by August 31 of the entering year and applicants for Kindergarten, five years old by August 31 of the entering year. More detailed information is included in the application materials. We encourage families to learn about our many exciting programs and to contact the Admissions Office with any questions.
Applicants must return the completed Application to the Admissions Office with a non-refundable application fee by December 19, 2008. All applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Ramaz makes admission decisions without regard to financial need.
