Rabbi Haskel Lookstein Shares Pre-Yom Kippur Divrei Torah with MS Students

The MS students were privileged to hear from Rabbi Lookstein last Thursday as he prepared them for Yom Kippur (many of the new bnei and bnot mitzvah fasted for the first time!) Rabbi Lookstein spoke about the story of Zushya, a young man who was worried that on the Day of Atonement, God would question why Zushya didn't live up to his potential and act more like "himself." Students were also encouraged not to worry much about surviving the fast, but rather to focus on teshuva, where one must understand the three key ideas surrounding repentance: recognition of the wrong acts committed, regret that they took place, and resolve that they will never happen again.
