If you have any additional questions, you can reach out to Kenny Rochlin '86, Director of Institutional Advancement, at kroch@ramaz.org or 212-774-8041, or call the Ramaz Development Office at 212-774-8055. We'd love to hear from you!
Q: How do I participate? Can I make a donation today?
A: Yes! To donate online, please click on "Make Your Gift Now". You also can send a check to The Ramaz School (114 East 85th Street, New York, NY 10028).
Q: What is the minimum donation amount that will count towards the 2011/2012 Annual Campaign?
A: Gifts of every size make an impact on helping to support Ramaz and fill the gap.
Q: How long does this campaign go on?
A: Donations received through June 30, 2012, will go towards the 2011-2012 Annual Campaign and be counted in these Parent Participation percentages. Donations received beginning July 1, 2012, will go towards our next campaign (the 2012-2013 Annual Campaign).
Q. What is my donation funding?
A: Your contribution supports the following areas of giving at Ramaz that help to better our children's Ramaz education:
- Scholarship ensures that children, regardless of financial need, have access to a high quality Jewish education.
- Academic Excellence helps provide the highest level of education in both Jewish and general studies.
- Student Life & Leadership supports co-curricular activities that empower students to grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
- Religious Life & Communal Values helps provide our students with opportunities to further connect with their Jewish identity, the State of Israel, and our global community.
- Educational Advancement offers an academic program designed to meet the individual learning needs of students, including differentiated instruction, enrichment opportunities, and learning centers.
Q: Is this different from the capital and endowment campaign?
A: Yes. Your participation in the Annual Campaign supports the annual operating budget of the school, helping to fill the roughly $5.5 million gap between the revenue raised from tuition and the cost required to operate the school. Our capital campaign, Building The Future Together: The Campaign for Ramaz & Kehilath Jeshurun, is an independent campaign that raises money to revitalize the Lower School and KJ facilities, as well as to build the Ramaz endowment to assure Ramaz's financial sustainability. If you have additional questions, please reach out to Kenny Rochlin at kroch@ramaz.org or call him at 212-774-8041.
Q: What if I attended the Annual Dinner? Does that count as a contribution to the Annual Campaign?
A: Yes! The Annual Dinner is a highlight of the Annual Campaign. All those who purchased a ticket to attend the Dinner or placed a virtual ad are already supporting the Annual Campaign.
Q: With whom do I speak if I have more questions about the participation initiative or the Annual Campaign?
A: You can reach out to Kenny Rochlin at kroch@ramaz.org or 212-774-8041 or the Development Office at 212-774-8055.
Q: With whom do I speak if I want to be more involved—philanthropically or otherwise—with Ramaz?
A: You can reach out to Kenny Rochlin at kroch@ramaz.org or call him at 212-774-8041.
Questions from Current Parents
Q: What is the current parent participation rate? How close are we to our participation goal?
A: Check out the latest stats here. Numbers will be updated weekly from now to the end of June.
Q: What is the minimum donation amount that will count towards the Parent Participation figures?
A: Your donation in any amount will make a difference. Every family counts and will be listed as a part of the initiative.
Q: I would like to participate, but with the over $5,000 per student gap, will my participation really make a difference?
A: Yes. Any amount that you contribute will make a difference—whether it's more than, equal to, or less than the gap per student. The most important part is that you participate. As a Ramaz parent, your participation sends the message that Ramaz is supported by a strong, unified, and committed parent body. You can make a difference.
Q: I have already made a donation to the 2011/2012 Annual Campaign. Am I included in the parent participation percentages?
A: Yes. Any donation to the Annual Campaign between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012 goes towards this year's 2011/2012 Annual Campaign, and will be counted in these Parent Participation percentages. To confirm whether or not you are on the parent list, visit the official list, which is updated weekly and features participating parents by grade, or contact Kenny Rochlin at 212-774-8041 or kroch@ramaz.org.
Q: If I have children in different grades/divisions, will my contribution count towards each one?
A: Yes. You do not have to divide your contribution into multiple installments. Your one contribution will be counted towards each student/child's grade.
Q: Will my donation $ amount be listed next to my name?
A: No. Our parent participation list is alphabetical by grade and does not indicate any dollar amount or giving level.
